When I look out the window, I see naught the beauty of the pale morning dawn, racing the clouds to make it's rising peak in the sky, nor the life that seemes to wrap it'self about the rapture of this earth. Instead, unlike most, I see the darkness, feel the rotting cold of a deathly pestilance that sits in my heart like a snake ready to strike. Never seeing the light, I only know the darkness, which is why I have taken up this life of solitude, life of learning, The life...Of a ranger.
~Laénaya Liwaen"
Raven black tresses swayed gently in the eastern wind in gentle silky turrets about a woman’s pale, angelic like face. Pointed ears poked from the umber mane.
The elf herself was qutie beautiful, like most of her kind, yet something about her was more intriging...More...Wild. An untamable heart of fire and passion.Yet even the wildest of mares...Are broken.
Captivating, yet strange milky white eyes flashed open and looked straight at the sun’s center corana without looking away, a sudden shudder ran through her body and her eye lids closed again, taking in a deep breath then exhaling slowly and started to walk away from the perch in the tree, across the line of bridges she had, with the intricate weave of her treehouse like fort.
The beautiful, seemingly young elf wore a simple alfit, leather breaches with black knee high boots. A red tuinc wrapped up her tightly much like a corset yet had arms that opened bell like just below the elbows. One scimitar gentle swayed at her waist, while there was a bow along her back, along with a quiver of arrows which heald a slight silver aura about them.
Listening to the animals and life around her, she found her way to the ladder and slowly made her way down, and started to walk through the woods, steps coming swiftly and with a deathly grace. Milky white eyes staring through the trees, a fogged look to them as if a curtain was drawn behind them.
Images flashed in her mind as she wandered toward the forest borders in which she would reach a large plateau, her mind wandered and all hearing ceased as her mind dawdled upon the past…. A girl looking about 11 walked through the human village, cloak drawn over her ears as raven hair poked from her cloak. Brilliant green eyes watched the going-on’s in wander yet finally stopped upon a group of boys, all throwing rocks at a homeless old man upon the street, which cringed back at every onslaught. Coming up to them she grabbed the wrist of a boy who was just about to send another rock whizzing through the air. “Stop” she commanded firmly, green eyes shimmering in the boy’s gray ones. Pulling away, he rubbed his wrist, turning upon the girl. “what’s the old man mean to you? What, are you some kind of homeless as well…Mother was probably a pig eating walrus and father just a fat man which reaped upon your mother’s putrid self.” The other boys snickered at the boy’s quip yet the young elf’s eyes flashed. “Take it back” she growled through clenched teeth. The boy simply laughed, taking a step back next to a small tree. “Now why would I do that…I’m not a liar” he said with a gentle smirk. That was all the girl could take, The tree behind him snapped, coming into an onslaught of bright green flames, falling on the boy and catching his limbs. The other boys scattered, yet the agonized screams rang in her ears…watching the flames lick at the boy, letting out a saddened shudder she rushed down going into the flames herself. She felt the flames lick her skin, charring flesh and burning hair. She kicked at the branch holding him and it finally kicked free. Grabbing him, she pulled him out, and fell with a thud on the ground, the image of the flames still dancing in her memory, yet…All was black….And then, her mind fell into darkness.
A startled gasp filled her frame as she awoke in a bed, a elder elf was next to the young girl and she turned her head…. Why couldn’t she see? Her hands started to pull toward her eyes, yet the man next to her grabbed her hands and held the tight. “Laénaya…” he whispered, with a slight crack at the end. “Ada?” she whispered,…”Why…Why can’t see. Is it night?”…Her father hesitated a moment then started up. “The burns were severe Lae…He did as best as we could yet…we couldn’t save one part of you” he said shakily.
Fear stroked through her and she gently pulled her fingers to her eyes, and recoiled back at what she felt. Her eyes were swollen and scabbed, with a soft feeling of the burned flesh. “They will heal, and look like normal eyes, well…The color will not but…They will look normal in time…Yet I fear m’love (daughter love) you…you. You will never see again” she said, dropping his head on her stomache with a gentle sob, holding her hands tight. Laénaya took a moment then squeezed her father’s hands gently. “Ada, Sometimes you don’t need…Your eyes to see” she said gently, yet the sadness could not be mistaken….She would never see the gentle blue rolling seas again, nor the greens of the forests she loved most, or the hawthorn tree in which the robin would nest in every year…Her sight, was truly gone.
(flash back over {{would do more yet I don’t want to become a novel.LOL))
Laénaya finally made her way through the trees and dropped to her knees, feeling the ground she felt the death and silence…. Her trees were gone. A single robin flew through the air and landed on her shoulder and a smile twitched at her full, delicate lips. “Show me the way my friend” she whispered. The robin let out a merry tune and flew ahead, whistling to guide her.
Laénaya stooped by the body of the man, her fingers felt his face which she could feel the burn marks, she recoiled back, taking to her feet she bowed her head low, starting to sing a prayer to wish the man good passing to his next life, and wish peace to his life in the ether world…To wish peace of the flames that had taken his life, and to not let them haunt him in that other life…Unlike her, which the flames would haunt her forever….-DONE-
Ooc|sorry, I"m sick...Here it is...Also, It's only a very small section that is scorched... just a little incident...Use your imagination how it happened, what ever you want...Even be that soilder and have his like, come back XD what ever *sigh*
